GenX Tricks is a blog concentrated on technology, Internet, mobile web, software’s. I found many of my visitors are new to blogging world even as readers. In a brief, Blog is an online journal, which you can write about anything you are interested to. So, I hope following usage guide will be helpful to you to understand blogging mechanism & get the best of GenX Tricks.
Search:
GenX Tricks is powered by powerful Google search engine. If you are looking for a particular topic, you can search through search box at right top or going to search page. This is a custom search engine which searches only inside GenX Tricks.
Archives & Catagories:
All posts which I write will automatically made monthly archives, which you can access by clicking appropriate month under “Archive” header. I create Catagories & I always try to map appropriate catogories while writing posts. If you are interested in particular catogoty say “INTERNET”, you can select that catogory under “Catogories” header in sidebar.
Commenting:
A comment box will be present at the end of every post. You may not find this box in Home page, Archives & Catogories. Instead hyperlinked number of comments or “No Comments” displayed at the end. You can click on that link to get the comment box. Comment may be anything from saying “Thank You for the post” to asking a question or doubt about that topic. Improper & Irrelavent coments will be removed. Top 10 commentators depending on number of comments a person makes, will be displayed on all pages of GenX Tricks. This list gets refreshed every month.
Display of Avatars in your comments:
GenX Tricks comment system is enabled with Gravatar, globally recognized avatars. Go to www.gravatar.com, signup & assign an avatar for your email ID. Now while commenting wherever you use that email ID, your avatar will be automatically displayed. This applies to all Gravatar enabled blogs. This is just one time action to get you avatar displayed on all gravatar-enabled blogs worldwide.
Ratings:
Liked a post or dis-liked, let others know that. Star Rating system is implemented to know what visitor likes or dis-likes. You can click on Stars present at end of every post to rate that. Rating varies from single star to five stars.
Feeds:
A feed of GenX Tricks is provided to enable users to read posts at their convenience. You can subscribe to feeds through many feed reader applications available. You can add feed to your google feed reader, google personalized homepage, Yahoo home page…. & many others. New post made on GenX Tricks will instantly available on feeds. Email Subscriptions:
Even though feeds are available; many people like to subscribe via email. Both feed & email subscription services are provided by Feed Burner, recently acquired by Google. You can subscribe via email by entering your email ID in the subscribe box provided at right sidebar of GenX Tricks. One verification mail will be sent to provided email ID to just to confirm the email ID is yours. The entire process is automatically taken care by Feed Burner so that you can start receiving very next post via email. Unsubscribe link will be provided at end of every email, so that you can stop receiving mail at any time. Hope you don’t do that J. Your email ID will be kept confidential & will not be used for any other purpose like spamming. You will receive a mail only when I make new post on GenX Tricks. Currently you will get entire post via email.Share This:
A “Share This” link present at end of every post. Clicking on it will open a small pop up with links to all popular social bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumble Upon, Technorati, Delicious…etc. You can click any one which you use to add the post to bookmarks or favorites for future reference. You can also email the post using “Share This”.
